A Little About Roald Dahl
Roald Dahl was born September 13th, 1916. His
parents were Norwegian immigrants to England, where he was born and grew
up.
When Roald became an adult, he served in World War II as a
British air force pilot, about which he wrote a book entitled, "Going
Solo". However, Roald Dahl's first published writing was a
story entitled, "A Piece of Cake," which was published in 1942.
Awards:
1983: Fantasy Award for Life Achievement
1990: Children's Author of the Year
2008: He was placed 16th on the List of the 50 Greatest British
Authors since 1945
2021: Forbes ranked him the top earning dead celebrity.
