1997:  This website was first established by me, Leon, under a different domain URL:  < efl.htmlplanet.com >.  It was established as a resource for my past, present, and future students of English a Foreign Language (EFL) and English a Second Language (ESL).  What's the difference?

2000:  This website grew into something for teachers of EFL/ESL, too.

2002:  I added a section especially for EXPAT teachers of EFL/ESL.  (Because I was an expat at the time;  read my blogs of my life overseas).

2004:  My so-called "teachers' expat page" had evolved into an EXPAT page, (not only for teachers, but for ALL EXPATRIATES around the world).  Having been an expatriate myself from 1995 to 2016, I feel that I have a lot to offer by way of information for other expatriates.

2009:  I deleted this website, because I was in financial straits.  I could no longer afford to run this website.  It costs me a lot of money (and time) to run this website.  Most of the advertising on this website is given free of charge.  I have earned a little money from Amazon.com and Google, but it has been very, very little money, and with new rules I don't make any money at all (So, you don't see those ads any more).  Unfortunately, I have NEVER made a profit from this website.

2011: I started this website again (under a new domain: http://leonsplanet.com), but that didn't last, for various reasons.

2014:  Over time, this website has evolved, as have I.  I have used this one website for all of my purposes/projects, which are:  (1) Education, (2) Edutainment, (3) Esoterics, (4) Emergency Prep, (5) Energy (for body, house, and car), and (6) Expatriates.

2021:  The educational focus of this website became multi-faceted. It is primarily an English Language Educational website which serves students, teachers, and parents for English Language Arts (ELA), EFL, ESL, TEFL, TESL, and Content-based Education.  What is content-based education?

2023:  Leon's planet was nominated anonymously for the Education and Training Awards to Corporate Vision (and won!  It'll be officially announced somethime in August of 2023).  Here is a screen shot of the email announcing my award...

2024:  This website changed its URL.
The new URL is https://leonsplanet.neocities.org/
I had to change the URL because my previous web-hosting company did not offer a secure URL (i.e., no https://).
I tried Blue webhosting and found out that it is a scam run by an Indian company.  After I cancelled, they kept charging me monthly.  I had to go through a bunch of rigmarole to stop the charges.
On the other hand, NEOCITIES is a such an awesome webhosting site.  First of all, it is free of charge (unless you want to upgrade which comes with more storage; but it only costs $5.00/month to upgrade, which is insanely cheap).  And, my favorite thing about NEOCITIES is that it is sooooooooo user-friendly!  And, it supports my formatting (which is rare).  I am so pleased with NEOCITIES.  You don't even need an FTP program.  You can click and drag files.  It is sooooo user-friendly.  I love it!

And, the funny thing is that I found it by accident.  I was looking for geocities, and neocities popped up.  Neocities is trying to be the new geocities.  Geocities was a free webhosting site (I think run by Yahoo!) way back in the late 90's.  Therefore, I highly recommend Neocities to anyone who wants to make a website.

Since all fees and labor to run/operate this website are provided by me (a single individual), and since advertising has failed to produce any profit, Leon's Planet could use your support to keep going.

Having spent 10 years in Korea , I made a Korean Home page.  Since I speak/write Spanish (as a Second Language), I made a Spanish Home page (with the help of an acquaintance; unfortunately I don't remember his name).  Having lived in China for 2 years, I made a Chinese Home page.  Lastly, having lived in Mongolia for 5 years, I made a Mongolian Home page.
