Mother's Day is the second Sunday in May.

Origin of American Mothers'Day:

Probably, mid May was chosen, because most women who become mothers, become mothers in Spring.  To learn more about the actual history of how it became a national holiday ,

American Mothers' Day Traditions:

Traditions include giving flowers to one's mother, cooking all the meals if still living with one's mother; or taking her out for dinner.

Giving Mothers' Day cards is very common, as well.  Some people make their own cards, and write sentimental things.

#5:  Valentina Vassilyev (Russian woman)
Valentina holds the world record for giving birth to the most children.  She gave birth to 69 children between 1725 and 1765.  "How is that possible?" you ask?  Well, for one there were only 27 pregnancies.  16 twins, 7 triplets, and 4 quadruplets.  [Source].

Gosiame Sithole gave birth to 10 babies from one pregnancy on the 9th of June 2021.  A new world record for the most babies birthed from a single pregnancy!  [Source].

#3:  Hayley Jones (Tennessee woman)
Hayley (and her husband) set the world record in June of 2014 for the most children adopted at once--8 siblings from Sierra Leone.  [Source].
