IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER Neither Leon nor Leonsplanet.com will fully
endorse any of the following websites.  Parents beware:  Gone are the
days of non-political, non-in-your-face-agendas.  You, the user, must fully
vet the websites and their content.  I have checked the websites to see if
they work and meet my standards, but things change; politics change, agendas
change, websites change.  I like "Free" (and that usually means
free with advertising, but not always; sometimes free of charges is also free of
ads); and if there are ads, that means you, the parent, have to watch your child
and make sure he/she is not clicking on strange ads, etc.  Also, if you do
not like the agendas being "pushed" on your child, please do not use
that website.  I am unapologetically conservative, and I fully believe in
parental rights.  Herein-below, I have listed a brief overview of reasons that I cannot fully
endorse any other website these days, but I provide the list of links as
possible resources for ESL/EFL parents/teachers/children.  If you find a
broken link or a website that you disagree with for any reason, please feel free
to contact me.

      | REASONS FOR LACK OF
ENDORSEMENTof external links posted on this site...
 |
      | 1 | Sometimes links go bad. |
      | 2 | Sometimes what was once "free"
changes without my knowledge to no-longer free. (I try to remove those
        links). |
      | 3 | Political agendas of websites change over
time (without my knowledge).  When I find out something goes awry,
        I remove those links. |
      | 4 | I cannot vet every single book, video, or
activity posted on other websites.  I do not have the time.
Parents need to (now more than ever) be aware of what their child is
"getting into" on the web.  Basically, I've done my best
to vet these websites, but use at your own risk.  I shall not be
        held accountable. |

            | REVIEW: | Free with ads.  There are tons
of ads, which I'm okay with, because they need to make money
somehow, but you've got to watch your child, to make sure they
aren't clicking on ads that you don't approve of.  The great
thing about this website is that the child can read along with the
              reader. |

            | REVIEW: | THIS IS AWESOME!  It is a
collection of scanned books, that the reader has to read
his/herself.  It is for children of all ages.  For young
children, I recommend clicking on "Books by format,"
then click on "Picture Books."  It's FREE with NO
              ads! | |
      | "Storyline
Online" brought to you by SAG-AFTRA Foundation.
Celebrities read stories to kids.  I cannot vet
all of those celebrities.  I don't even know half of them.
Even if I did know the celebrity, I might not be familiar with their
politics.  But, it is free and has no ads that I'm aware of (as of
5/15/22). Here is the description from their own website: The SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s Daytime Emmy®-nominated and award-winning children’s literacy website, Storyline Online®, streams videos featuring celebrated actors reading children’s books alongside creatively produced illustrations. Readers include Oprah Winfrey, Chris Pine, Kristen Bell, Rita Moreno, Viola Davis, Jaime Camil, Kevin Costner, Lily Tomlin, Sarah Silverman, Betty White, Wanda Sykes and dozens more.
Reading aloud to children has been shown to improve reading, writing and communication skills, logical thinking and concentration, and general academic aptitude, as well as inspire a lifelong love of reading. Teachers use Storyline Online in their classrooms, and doctors and nurses play Storyline Online in children’s hospitals.

Storyline Online is available 24 hours a day for children, parents, caregivers and educators worldwide. Each book includes supplemental curriculum developed by a credentialed elementary educator, aiming to strengthen comprehension and verbal and written skills for English-language learners.

Storyline Online is a program of the SAG-AFTRA Foundation. The Foundation is a nonprofit organization that relies entirely on gifts, grants and donations to fund Storyline Online and produce all of its videos.
